This page tries to anticipate your questions and concerns and give you some answers. We will add to it as more questions arrive, but it is a good idea to check this page before making enquiries. Also read our Guides - links on the right.

How will my site look?

This is not difficult to decide. Go through the Gallery and choose a design, examine it carefully. Decide if you like it as it is, or if you would like to change something (background colour, button fonts, etc). Now you have the frame for your site. Now look at the Format Guide (link on the right) and choose a format - single or double column layout, horizontal or vertical menu, and decide where you would like to place your pictures, logo etc. Draw it roughly on a piece of paper, or print out the chosen design with printer options set to "Fit-to-Page", and position your pictures. This exercise will soon enable you to get a good idea of the finished site appearance.

How long will it take before my site starts bringing in business?

This is the 64-million-dollar question! After spending time and money on setting up a website you, not unreasonably, want a return on your investment. There is no simple answer to this question as it depends on a number of factors.

  • How attractive your products or services are to the public.
  • How much competition you have.
  • How competitive your prices are to the competition's.
  • How much promotion you are prepared to undertake.
  • How interesting your website is to the public.
  • .... and so on. The key to getting noticed is marketing and promotion, but to sell you must be competitive or offer something which the competition cannot. If your website offers this then it will attract business. This is something to consider when designing your site and selecting content. And remember, a website adds a new marketing channel to your business. It can also add to your credibility and business image.

Please see our Promotion Guide for more information on promotion.

  • How do I update and maintain my website?

Your website has been created in HTML and to update it you will need a basic knowledge of HTML so that you can insert new data in the appropriate place. If you do not have this knowledge yourself you will need to find a service who can do this for you. If your content is fairly limited this should not be expensive. We can provide you with site maintenance if you require it.

Please contact us for quotes when you need to update your website.
